A community focused on you
On The Way Home:
An Alabama
Reentry Community
There are more than 25,000 people incarcerated in the State of Alabama, making us one of the states with the highest rate of incarceration.
With the over incarceration problem we’re facing, the number of men who have been incarcerated for more than 20 years is significant and growing, leading to a prison population filled with elderly.
Leaving prison after years of incarceration is exciting but also scary, especially if you no longer have any family to assist in the transition …. this is where On The Way Home comes in.
Our Future Residents
C, age 54 Incarcerated 32 years
“I can’t express how great it would be to have a place to go once I was released that could help me get going in the right direction. Somewhere that I could reacquaint myself with society and become a part of a community. A place where I can learn and grow so that I can become a positive part of my environment. There is no place like that at the moment, but there is one in the making that can give people like me the skills and tools we need to be able to not only remain in the free world but also become productive members and that is On The Way Home.”
T, age 57 Incarcerated 26 years
“Being able to go to a place like On The Way Home will allow me to concentrate on what’s really important, reconnecting with family, reintegrating back into society and setting the foundation for a successful future without the worry of life’s basic necessities.”
N, age 45 Incarcerated 30 years
“Being accepted into On The Way Home is, in my opinion, essential to a successful transition back into society. Being incarcerated at the age of 15, serving 3 decades in prison, I absolutely need and will greatly benefit from the skills, programs and services that will be offered.”
A community made just for you!
